Both the 160DS and 290DS kits come with 22″ (no overlap) of tubing included in the kit if no extension tubes are included. This would be enough to install a Solatube that requires roughly 20 inches between the top and bottom tubes. This would account for overlapping the tubes by 2 inches. The top tube is slightly larger than the bottom tube to allow the bottom tube to easily slide into the top tube.
If you purchase a eChoice kit, it should include 32 inches of extension tube, PLUS the 22 inches for the top and bottom assembly pieces. If you used roughly a 2 inch overlap, that would allow for approximately 50 inches between the top of the ceiling and where the hole would be cut for opening on the roof.
The tubing can be purchased in 16 inch or 24 inch pieces for building your extension tube to connect the bottom and top of the Solatube.
