The installation time can vary depending on the size of the system. We will conduct a site survey to ensure the solar panel system will fit in the desired area.

P.V. System – Planning & Considerations

  • What is your goal in energy reduction?
  • Depending on the existing roof condition it might be necessary to replace the current roof where the panels would be installed.
  • A copy of your building blueprints might be required for the structural engineer to review before they will approve the permit to install the solar panels on the roof.
  • A due south sun exposure is preferred, but a south western exposure will also work, but the electric output from the solar panels will be slightly degraded.

The p.v. system can be mounted on most roof surfaces including asphalt and metal roofs. Tile and wood shingle roofs can accommodate solar panels, but will increase the cost of the installation. The panels will shield the underlying roof from exposure to the sun and elements. Mounting the solar panels on the roof will absorb the summer time heat and should help to lessen the demand of the cooling system.

There are multiple options available to mount the solar panels including roof, ground mount, and top-of-pole mount systems.
